CL200: Looking for motivation

October 2nd, 2009 by BT Leave a reply »

I’ve been looking for motivation the past two days to go out to the garage and work on the Honda CL200, but the motivation just isn’t there.  I think it’s just the annual shock of colder weather setting in combined with being exhausted from vacation still.

Actually, as far as meeting my goal for the year, I got it running and got one nice long ride on it without breaking down….which was pretty much my goal for the year.

I’m hoping since it will be in semi-heated space in the garage bay at my office I’ll find the time over the winter to work on it still.  The only real problem with it at this point that’s not just cosmetic is the oil leak and a couple cracked lenses on the back end.

BT, I feel you’r pain, I have a heated work space that used to be my recording studio but now it’s a honda shop . I have an 81 cb 900c that is stripped down to nothing awating sand blast & complete resto. Also a 80 cb 900f in need of a top end. My wife said I have to finish the custom first ( as to take her riding) before I chop the 900f ( gonna make her a single seater) but like you said the weather is a real motovation killer!!!! Hang in there brother, there’s only so much time before spring, and you will relize what you need to do by a certain date (if you want to ride) and that is you’re motivation…… Later…..Jay

Ha! My wife wanted to learn to ride so she could go riding with me. I let her on my CL200 one time and she cranked the throttle, popped the clutch, panicked, and went rocketing off until she luckily dropped it in the neighbor’s grass. The highway bars prevented any damage to her or the bike.

Hoping to get some decent weather this weekend for probably the last eiding of the season.
