I’ve already eliminated the ugly Vetter faring and luggage rack so this winter I plan on bringing her back up to speed. There is a noise in the engine which worrys me and she needs starter, chain and sprockets etc. Runs fine with a slight hesitation at low end but evens out nice. Had up to 80, no prob. How do I determine what is causeing noise behind ign. plate, left side?

Noise on the 750s have been normal since i can remember. It has to do with the starter drive chain. Check your timing chain tension,by loosening your adjuster. Rock bike forward and backward gently, while in gear. Finish by tightening adjuster. And you are finished. Still a noise? If you can live with it do so. The cases on the earier models would have to be split. To get to that sungear bearing. And the drive chain would have to be renewed. One time, with out of timed cylinders. Will stretch the chain,so you can start over. If it works, don’t mess with it

Very nice. I’m quite envious. I was looking for a CB550 Four or 750 Four when I ended up with my GT380. More parts to keep track of, but you really can’t beat a Honda, right?

I’m still working on my wrenching skills, but if you need help diagnosing problems with your bike. Or if you end up needing help working on it the guys out at WBS Fabrication, in Dublin are super friendly and great with old bikes. I think they’re website is http://www.wbsfab.com.
