Hello,

I’m new to this site, and need help. Anybody have a schematic showing how to time and set point on our 73′ kaw f11 250 enduro. Can’t get any help from the dealers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Since you’re new at this. Park the motorcycle over a padded area. Remove spark plug, inspection cover for points.Place trans in high gear. Rotate rear tire in the direction of travel or have an assistant move it for you. Watch points, when points begin to open, stop. With a
long nylon zip tye, stuck down the spark plug hole. Check where the piston is located. You may have to rock or rotate rear wheel, back and forth to find tdc. Check to see if this method matches the mark on the rotor/case. Where points open,is where ignition happens. Two strokes are at tdc/roll thru a couple of revolutions to be precise. With plug connected and grounded, check for spark.Check cardiac correction.

I Just got rid of a 73 F11 shop manual, when I sold my bike about a month ago! You can find them on E-bay motors for about $20. The Factory Kaw manual is way more specific than a clymer!

This isn’t much of an answer, but did you try one of those Clymer’s shop manuals? I know they’re usually wrapped in the stores so you can’t look at what you want to see and then not buy the book…but sometimes they are unwrapped.

Also, locally we have Ohio Motorcycle and State 8…both are Kawasaki dealers and usually have fairly helpful people at the service desks.
