“Before” photo of my winter project

November 13th, 2009 by wingnut Leave a reply »

I posted some of my toys prior and mentioned one of my winter projects was hanging a sidehack on wifeys Wing. I found a Velorex that was painted with a roller (sometimes us old guys do that ya know) and plan to restore to new. I’ll match it to her bike which is caddy pearl white and then tastefully pinstripe to match – I think some silver graphics are in order to break up too much white.

I am enjoying the site an monitor it when I get a chance. I am loving to see the bikes, projects, ideas, etc. Keep blogging!Sidecar 010

Looks like a nice hack. Good match for your Goldwing. Roller paint for that pro effect. Had an old guy at an antique meet tell me that in the days, The teens that is, before the roller or paint gun was invented they would use a close cut pelt of sheep’s skin about 4 inches round and just daub it on. The slow drying enamel would flow like a river he said.
Makes you want to stick to your guns don’t it ?
Well. good luck with it. looking forward to seeing it done.

Wow! That’s wild… what a find! Like to see when you get it done. Have to be careful driving, there’s a trick to driving with a sidecar, have to lean the opposite way than you’re used to…you prob. know that…be cool when it’s done though…be fun showing it off…
