I brought the Honda home yesterday after storing it at my office all Winter. It took a crap momentarily just before turning onto Mentor Avenue, but it was just a bad connection with the fuse underneath the seat.

After a 34 mile ride home, the battery finally charged but the turn signals seem to have given up blinking over the Winter and now just go on solid. Anyone know what may be wrong?

So, one bike is home. The Kawasaki needs to be jump started (dead battery) and then I’ll figure out what’s up with the carbs. It will only idle with the choke on…even after a few loops around the block.

Well, I keep the bikes at my office during the winter now, and since I had a day when I didn’t have to rush off to pick up the kids from daycare, I thought I’d get the bikes started.

I’ve been meaning to put Sta-bil in the tanks since October…oops. I’ve been meaning to start them both since October….oops. The 2008 Kawasaki will not run at all without the chok in half position (unless the throttle is applied) and the battery won’t charge at all. I figure I’ll check the water levels this week and probably pull the floats off to see if the idle jets are gummed up.

The CL200 was a pleasant surprise. The battery was dead…no surprise there. I reattached the fuel lines, kicked it about ten times and it was running beautifully. There’s something to be said for a 36 year old bike that’s less finicky than a two year old bike.

Anyway, I rode around a little in the industrial park and called it a day.

But to their credit, they did get their bikes out, whereas most HDDBs wouldn’t dream of getting a little water on their babies.

A toast to them and everyone else for a fun upcoming season.
