Hello all! Just joined this site and happy to see that I am not the only person interested in vintage motorcycles. I bought my first vintage Honda, a CL200, about a year and a half ago. Friend of mine had it in his shed, bought it for $100. I have been slowly working on it since. I just recently acquired another CL200 for the same price only 35 miles from my house! For those who don’t know, Honda made this model only one year, making them a bit hard to come by (apparently not for me though!). What I would like to know is how many were made? Anyone know where to find this kind of info? I would like to talk to other CL200 owners also, and maybe start a registry.

Ok for starters i got this bike at a price i could not pass on , my thing is i must sell this bike asap and have no clue what the price i would ask should be ……. I literrally have no clue about this bike other than they were only made in one year , so on that note does anyone here have any idea of what its worth ? what i should start my price at ? and what would be a bad price to ask? —- the bike is near mint it has custom pipes ( straight pipes ) custom highway bars , all original pieces , both side cases , 22,963 miles …. I am eagerly waiting for you advise

The plan is to take it all apart and restore it from the frame out. First thing is to see how it runs. That is where the problem starts, lol, it won’t run right. The bike sat in a dirt floor garage for some time before I got it, so I took and cleaned the tank out first and put in new gas. It stumbled and after a battery recharge or 2 it came to life. At first it wouldn’t Idle, and had trouble reaving up the rpms. I took off the carbs and cleaned them a bit, it idles ok now but pulling for rpms it boggs and stalls, if I hold my tounge just right and feather it, I can get it to come up to about 5000rpms before it dies again. I’m guessing I need to pull the carbs again. I did notice one of the slides sticking before the first cleaning, but it worked a lot better after. So anyways, what might have I missed or messed up? Thanks for any input.
